3 Hong Kong, the mobile division of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong, has launched its Check Point Mobile Threat Prevention (MTP) Solution, which enables enterprises to address the security concerns inherent in the “bring your own device” (BYOD) trend by monitoring and protecting business information while on the move.

As the name implies, the security solution was developed by Check Point Software Technologies to fend off network-borne threats to operating systems and apps. The solution – aimed at iOS and Android devices – claims a 100% track record in detecting and apprehending malware delivered by SMTP email, as well as social and drive-by exploits. The new solution also detects malicious Wi-Fi networks and apps– along with known and unknown threats – by using a threat-emulation process, conducting advanced static code analysis, exploring an app’s reputation and machine learning.

3 Hong Kong’s Check Point MTP Solution helps enterprises secure mobile devices via integration with enterprise mobility management solutions. A cloud-based dashboard provides security and mobility teams with real-time threat intelligence, plus visibility into the nature of threats likely to launch attacks. Users receive an alert the instant a threat is detected.

“Providing employees with access to company information on mobile devices allows them to keep up to speed with work while away from the office – but protecting their devices from threats to business data must be of the utmost importance,” said Jennifer Tan, HTHKH’s Chief Operating Officer.

Check Point’s Steve McWhirter, VP of Asia, Middle East & Africa, said, “Mobile devices represent one of the most vulnerable endpoints in corporate security today, exposing businesses to malicious threats and attacks. With this partnership, however, 3 Hong Kong’s enterprise customers can protect their businesses from these advanced threats, while enabling users to access critical business information.”
