Alibaba Cloud says it has expanded its blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) offering overseas to Southeast Asia, the US and Europe.
Alibaba Cloud’s BaaS – which launched in China in October 2017 – provides an enterprise-level platform service to help customers build a secure and stable environment for blockchain implementations.
The BaaS offering supports enterprise-level applications on two platforms: Hyperledger Fabric and Ant Blockchain.
Hyperledger Fabric is a multi-project, multi-stakeholder framework implementation and one of the Hyperledger projects hosted by The Linux Foundation. Ant Blockchain, developed by Alibaba Group’s financial affiliate Ant Financial Services Group, is a proprietary platform.
BaaS supports a range of applications including automatic deployment, consortium blockchain management, smart contracts, user and certificate management and SDK applications, as well as a range of monitoring, operating and maintenance functions.
