Checkpoint Systems has announced the launch of a series of loss prevention and data analytics solutions that would allow high-value electronic devices to be displayed in retail stores without having to attach them to tables and display stands with security cables.

Such cables are there to prevent shoplifting. Checkpoint’s new wireless security system promises to enable stores to get rid of the cables and enable customers to pick up one or more devices, leave the stands and walk to another display table to compare multiple devices, while the devices are fully protected by the security system.

The result is an enhanced customer experience while potentiallly increasing sales, as sales representatives will have the opportunity to cross-sell different products, said Christophe Castagne, Director of Merchandise Visibility Solutions South East Asia, Checkpoint Systems.

“With two points of alarm, one at the main alarm and one at the sensor head, the shop owner or sales representatives will be immediately alerted if the device is brought beyond the designated location,” he said. “The LCD on the main alarm will identify which sensor head is alarming and the reason for the alarm.”

The system also features cloud-based data analytics capability, generating reports on different customer behaviors such as the total number of lifts by device, time and store, as well as dwell time by product. This information will allow the store manager/owner to work out what the popular products will be by predicting trends, forecast where the demand will be and optimize pricing for a competitive edge, hence improving sales, margins and profits.
