China Unicom Global brings CUniq MVNO brand to the US

China Unicom Global (CUG) has launched its “CUniq” MVNO business in America in its latest move to expand overseas following the launch of its European MVNO in December 2016.

With the America launch, CUG says CUniq has become the first MVNO brand worldwide to simultaneously provide data sharing in 47 countries and regions including Hong Kong, Europe and America.

CUniq is an overseas MVNO service created for international business travelers. Connected via CUG’s global network, “CUniq” offers a one-card-multiple-number service that providing 4G high speed network service in 47 countries and regions in China, America, Asia and Europe. Customers are able to use mainland China, Hong Kong and US mobile numbers, which can be managed using a single account. Customers can use data, voice and SMS services in different countries, and contact China Unicom’s 24/7 trilingual customer service (Chinese, English, Cantonese).

Lisong Zhou, executive VP of CUG, said, the one-card-multiple-number service in America will have three plans including Share Plan, Local Plan and Visitor Plan, aimed at global businesspersons, American local users and tourists, respectively. CUG also supports electronic payments including WeChat, Alipay, Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay among others.
