Engineering and infrastructure management services provider Downer and Cyient have signed a project agreement for wideband design services.

The wideband project in Australia is a dedicated fiber network used exclusively by CSP business customers, providing services at a minimum of 2 Mbps.

Under the agreement with Downer, Cyient will provide a broad range of design engineering services using existing data in generating accurate estimates and complete wideband design activities. The project is to go live some time in November 2016.

Cyient says the Downer partnership aligns strongly with its end-to-end solution portfolio, providing customers a one stop shop for plan/design, deploy, operate and field engineering services. The project also builds on the existing relationship between the two companies, including FTTx plan and design, AsBuilts, and Database of Records.

We have been providing design services for over ten years in Australia for leading communication service providers,” said Sanjay Krishnaa, senior VP of communications and President Asia Pacific at Cyient. “This contract with Downer further expands Cyient’s design engineering footprint across Australia.”

“Downer is thrilled to be partnering with Cyient to provide wideband design services in Australia. This collaboration between our two organisations presents an exciting opportunity to provide quality wideband services to our clients”, said Luke Rowlands, GM of Network Construction & Maintenance at Downer.
