Cyient says it has been selected by Liberty Global to support its new GigaWorld initiative to bring Gigabit broadband speeds to its operations in Europe.

Announced last November, Liberty Global’s GigaWorld initiative seeks to bring broadband speeds of 1 Gbps and more to tens of millions of households across Europe. Around 50 million homes in Europe have access to Liberty Global’s fiber-based “GigaReady” networks today. Liberty Global expects that millions more will be connected over the coming years.

With capabilities in delivering FTTP and HFC planning and design services, Cyient will support Liberty Global in its goal for faster provisioning of next-generation broadband services to existing and new customers.

“Through our GigaWorld initiative, we’re investing in the infrastructure of our age,” said Colin Buechner, managing director, Access Network, at Liberty Global. “By selecting Cyient we hope to enhance and expand our networks so they become not only faster but also more resilient and responsive to the evolving needs of our customers.”

“With over 25 years of experience in network management and operation, we are well placed to provide data-driven designs for Liberty Global’s footprint expansion program,” said Krishna Bodanapu, managing director and CEO of Cyient,
