HKBN trial launches all-new mobile services with free trials

Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited (“HKBN”) is committed to providing customers with premium telecom services. Following its recent development in being licensed to offer MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) services, HKBN is planning a full launch of its all-new mobile services in September this year. Through the service, the company will bring customers high-value mobile services at competitive prices, whilst extending its first-class telecom experience outdoors.

In order to give customers an early taste of the performance of HKBN mobile services, the company announced today it will offer designated new and renewing customers with free trials of its all-new mobile services. From now until 31 August 2016 , customers who subscribe to or renew their contracts with designated HKBN service bundles* will be able to enjoy 6 months of monthly fee waiver for a mobile service plan originally priced at HK$108 /month . What’s more, customers who port their existing mobile numbers from other telecom service providers will enjoy additional monthly data under the plan.

Having signed a Memoranda of Understanding with China Mobile Hong Kong and SmarTone respectively, HKBN is presently in close discussions with the two companies to outline details of their collaboration. The promotional mobile plan announced today will be powered by SmarTone.

Fully confident of the new mobile services, HKBN CEO and Co-Owner William Yeung said, “More than a decade ago, HKBN entered the residential broadband market and set a new industry standard with our fibre network and competitive pricing. Now we expand into the mobile market with a vision to once again change the game, bringing top-value options to consumers.”

HKBN Group is Hong Kong’s largest provider of residential high speed fibre broadband (symmetrical 100Mbps to 1,000Mbps) services by number of subscriptions, and a fast growing enterprise solutions provider. The Group offers a full range of telecommunications solutions for both the residential and enterprise markets, encompassing broadband and Wi-Fi network services, mobile services, cloud solutions, data connectivity, data facilities, system integration and voice communications
