With everything going digital and heading to the cloud, the pay-TV sector is accelerating its transition to IP delivery. As you would expect, that is presenting challenges for traditional pay-TV providers and content owners in APAC. But it’s also brings challenges to solution providers like NAGRA, who is responding to disruptive market trends by rethinking and redefining its value proposition to pay-TV providers.

In the CommunicAsia exhibition at ConnecTechAsia 2019 in Singapore, NAGRA showcased a number of demos of cloud native solutions that can give pay-TV and OTT providers alike the opportunity to reach new customers outside of the managed network – and give them up-to-date tools to outwit the content pirates while they’re at it.

In this video Q&A, Disruptive.Asia editor in chief John C Tanner talks to Stephane Le Dreau, senior vice president and regional general manager for APAC at NAGRA, about the challenges that pay-TV operators face, the perennial problem of piracy, and why pay-TV players should care about better security solutions for IoT and smart homes.
