Openet announced that Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) is extending its Openet policy and charging solution to support Voice over LTE (VoLTE) as a further advancement of its 4G network.
SLT is rolling out VoLTE with the objective of enabling better quality voice and more optimal use of network resources, as part of the operator’s plans to provide digital services targeting both consumer and business segments.
“This extension of Openet’s service will not only allow us to rapidly enable high quality VoLTE, but help us further on the journey to providing advanced digital services to our customers,” said Priyantha Fernandez, CTO of Sri Lanka Telecom.
Jason Buckalew, VP of sales at Openet, said Sri Lanka Telecom’s expansion of VoLTE services “will serve to enhance customer experience while allowing SLT to optimize network capacity investments.”
Buckalew noted that SLT has been an Openet customer since 2011.
