Optus says it has added new content to its Mobile TV streaming offering, including local video streaming service Stan, ABC iview and the dedicated kids app, ABC KIDS iview.

Stan gives customers access to thousands of hours of entertainment including exclusive premiers such as Better Call Saul, Transparent, Younger and UnREAL, plus Stan Original programs including the critically acclaimed drama series Wolf Creek, and the Logie Award nominated series No Activity. Stan also offers a huge selection of movies from MGM, Roadshow Entertainment and SBS World Movies.

With ABC’s range of channels including ABC, ABC2, ABC News 24, ABC ME and ABC KIDS, customers get access to some of the world’s leading local and international comedies, dramas, documentaries, news and current affairs programs and children’s programming.

Tim Cowan, head of mobile marketing at Optus said that customers have been quick to embrace Mobile TV streaming. “Our customers that have taken up Mobile TV have more than doubled the amount of time they spend watching streaming content on their mobile devices.”

New and existing Optus customers on selected consumer and SMB My Plan Plus and My Mobile Broadband Plus plans, can stream all their favourite mobile video entertainment content from Stan, ABC iview, Netflix, and Presto in standard definition without using their plan’s monthly data allowance, for just A$10 extra per month (although Presto is reportedly shutting down at the end of January 2017).

Data-free streaming is included at no extra cost on other selected mobile and mobile broadband plans. ABC iview and ABC KIDS iview are available to all customers and access to Stan, Netflix and/or Presto just requires a current subscription.
