Adopting a multi-cloud model can be a fundamental solution for enterprise cloud challenges. The cloud market in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region is projected to grow 117% from $133 billion to $288 billion between 2019 and 2024, according to a report by GlobalData. However, a study from Forrester Consulting covering 670 technology and business decision-makers across APAC found that 73% had disparate and siloed data strategies that are stopping them from providing business stakeholders with the data they need. On top of this, 36% of the data is still hosted on-premise, 19% is hosted on a public cloud and 18% on private cloud.

APAC enterprises need to overcome these siloed strategies with a comprehensive solution for their cloud and data needs. By utilising a multi-cloud strategy, APAC enterprises can improve application performance, upscale operations, and ultimately hold their position within a competitive industry. This is prompting a growing number of enterprises to move from on-premise environments to the public cloud.

Many enterprises are missing out on the opportunity to achieve their expected return on investment (ROI) in the cloud. This is largely due to operational and network complexity. Enterprises are building their cloud deployments the same way as they’ve been doing for years and therefore missing an opportunity to harness the benefits that multiple cloud services have to offer.

APAC enterprises are starting to use multiple clouds and need a better way to manage them without complexity. As cloud and multi-cloud networking continue to increase, it is more important than ever that enterprises choose the right provider to deliver their cloud strategy to take their connectivity to the next level.

Advantages of Multi-Cloud Networking

Public cloud platforms provided by hyperscalers offer flexibility and scalability to enterprises; however, relying on them alone carries a significant level of risk due to potential outages and security concerns. Enterprises in APAC are making strong progress in data security, but focusing so much time on this means that they do not realise the potential benefits of multi-cloud. A multi-cloud approach can include a mixture of on-premise/private clouds, public clouds, and even legacy platforms to ensure performance, security and 24/7 accessibility. Enterprises must be able to adjust their cloud solutions according to their needs.

Enterprises implementing a solid-multi cloud strategy benefit from the best-in-class clouds tailored to their needs. They can evaluate different providers and secure the best rates suited to their specific IT requirements. Multi-cloud allows enterprises to choose multiple cloud options that best align with their goals.

In addition, enterprises have the agility to improve workload mobility between clouds and move faster to meet objectives. These factors are more important than ever to ensure business continuity.

On top of this, enterprises can mitigate risk through multi-cloud solutions offering redundant, independent systems with robust authentication mechanisms. Redundancy is crucial in the event of an attack or downtime.

By adopting multi-cloud, enterprises can also flexibly scale storage and compute based on their transforming needs and fluctuating demands. Multi-cloud provides a flexible foundation that enterprises need to really adapt in a changing market.

Multi-cloud connectivity is high-speed and low-latency, as well as being more cost-efficient, resulting in overall better performance. Multi-cloud adoption can help enterprises achieve greater efficiencies and establish a resilient standard of virtual infrastructure.

Finally, enterprises have the advantage of choosing from multiple cloud providers and can switch whenever they need to. They can benefit from the flexibility of the cloud to get the maximum outcome out of their partnership with any cloud service provider, without being locked into a single vendor.

Future-Proofing with Multi-Cloud

The growing demand across the APAC region for multi-cloud management drives enterprises to strengthen their portfolio to benefit from new opportunities.

Harnessing a multi-cloud solution should not only simplify an enterprise’s multi-cloud journey, but it should also allow them to stay ahead of competitors and bring their business into the future with confidence and control. A multi-cloud strategy has the potential to provide enterprise-class cloud networking and security, as well as full operational visibility and control. The right multi-cloud provider will provide enterprises with rapid deployment, expert support and continual transformation to take their cloud strategy further.

Enterprises can gain a stable foundation for the future with simple management within a cloud and between clouds. APAC enterprises can easily move from basic cloud connectivity to an advanced end-to-end multi-cloud network, allowing them to connect their network to cloud gateways without complexity.

Enterprises need a complete solution with full support, as well as scalability and flexibility, to complete in a rapidly evolving business landscape. Choosing the right provider can enable an enterprise to gain intelligent and actionable insights on traffic flows, anomalies, network health and troubleshooting, within the cloud and between clouds, at an accelerated rate.

Using a cloud networking platform can extend secure network segmentation beyond cloud boundaries, enabling multi-cloud security domains, with a consistent global network segmentation policy. APAC enterprises benefit from secure cloud access through a private and secure network. This allows them to move into the future with a cloud solution that can be relied on to keep up with growing cloud demand in the region.
