Samsung Electronics has announced a lineup of global live entertainment partnerships with the UFC, X Games and Live Nation for its virtual reality platform, Gear VR.

The new VR Live Pass on Gear VR events will be available via the Samsung VR app starting this month, enabling Gear VR users to stream select live events and performances. Samsung’s Gear VR users in 45 countries will be able to access the content at no cost.

“We’ve always felt that the potential of combining UFC events with virtual reality would give our fans the ultimate enhanced experience,” said UFC Chief Operating Officer Ike Lawrence Epstein.

“From never been done tricks to awe-inspiring competition, Samsung’s Gear VR technology is perfect to showcase dynamic action sports to viewers across the world,” said Tim Reed, VP of ESPN X Games.

The live VR broadcasts kick off on June 3 with UFC 212: Aldo vs. Holloway in Rio de Janeiro, in which Gear VR users will be able to watch the event as a 360-degree live stream and have access to additional VR content, including pre-event and post-event show highlights. That said, the broadcast won’t be available for users in the US and New Zealand – Gear VR users in those countries will have access to UFC Fight Pass early prelims.
