StarHub has announced the official opening of its Hubtricity innovation center and “converged operations cockpit” to accelerate service innovation and co-creation with partners and customers.

The cockpit – the centerpiece of the new 58,000 square-foot facility – is where StarHub will monitor how its fixed, mobile and pay-TV networks and services are performing, and understand how customers are using and responding to its service offerings via call-center metrics and social media analytics.

StarHub says this system provides it with the real-time data needed to deliver the highest service level to customers.

StarHub CEO Tan Tong Hai added that Hubtricity will also function as a co-working space for partners and start-up companies to create solutions for Singapore’s Smart Nation plan. “Currently, we are working with both local and global partners to build platforms, such as smart home, intelligent vehicles, connected buildings, virtual reality and smart retail, to meet the future needs of our customers.”

Tan said Hubtricity aims to nurture local talent and bring local technopreneurs together who can create ideas and test out their solutions, catalyzing greater collaboration and innovation from Singapore.

“With Hubtricity, StarHub is investing in capabilities that will enable it to innovate and develop new digital products, services and solutions with partners across industries,” said Kiren Kumar, assistant managing director at EDB. Kumar added Hubtricity will create jobs in Singapore in areas such as cyber security and social media analytics.

Hubtricity is located within STT MediaHub and went fully operational in December 2016.
